EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Optimize the role of the pulmonologist in diagnosis and management of uncontrolled asthma and the role of biologics in asthma treatment
- Become familiar with the management of progressive pulmonary fibrosis using Stage V sarcoidosis as example of this condition
- Recognize the risk of lung cancer in patients with Interstitial Lung Disease
- Be proficient in the management of critically ill hospitalized patients with ventilator associated pneumonia
- Optimize the workup and treatment options of patients with acute pulmonary thromboembolic disease
- Recognize and manage patients with chronic thromboembolic disease and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension
- Be proficient in using biomarkers in identifying T2 and non-T2 asthma
- Become familiar with the strategies to achieve clinical remission in asthma: a new era of treating to target.
- Become familiar with the principles of monitoring quality of care in asthma?
- Discuss and apply the current literature guidelines and future options regarding the treatment of COPD including the use of biologics for COPD.
- Become familiar with the relationship of lung cancer and pulmonary emphysema
- Become familiar with the current guidelines on the diagnosis and treatment of COPD/Bronchiectasis overlap
- Explain the clinical presentations, treatments, and outcomes of Stage IV Lung Cancer
- Outline the advances and state-of-the-art recommendations to identify and treat malignant and benign diseases of the trachea
- Explain the phenotypes of high lung cancer risk and importance of CT screening
- Identify and apply lung cancer disease biomarkers for targeted and immunotherapy
- Become familiar with the use of blood-based lung cancer detection testing
- Become familiar with advances in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep apnea
